The chief gift of therapy is change. One of the primary engines that drives this change is the relationship between the therapist and the client. Make sure it’s a good one.
I can hear anything you have to tell me. Everything that you’re going through or have been through is part of the huge wheel of life and it is what will eventually pour in to making you stronger – once you face yourself.
Through our relationship we will face things together. Sometimes things will come up in our relationship that we must look at together in order to heal. I will be honest with you about these things, in a professionally responsible and boundaried way. You can be honest with me about any facet of our relationship and my job is to be there for you, in a professionally responsible and boundaried way.
One of the great gifts of therapy is this opportunity to honestly discuss anything that comes up in the context of a relationship that is completely directed towards the client’s needs.
